As the Antoinette Rouvroy and Thomas Berns’s research shows, in the era of automatic computation, is emerging an «Algorithmic Governmentality», based on traceability and profiling of individuals behaviours. These immense capacities of technologies are exploited by capitalism, which, in its current ultra-liberal version, has created a social dynamic based on competition, on the belief that the market is the total dimension of associated life and where permanent innovation is the law that directs the production system. In a constantly changing world, individuals are disoriented and experience a sense of helplessness and frustration. They often react with natural emotional responses such as fear, opportunism, cynicism and, on the cognitive level, with attitudes that vary from naive credulity to radical scepticism. Resentment, populisms, xenophobia, rigid identity, fundamentalisms, are precisely the symptoms of this situation. This article tries to think about how to transform these passive and sad passions into active and joyful ones.
