A Facing Backwards Present. Technics of Memory in Bruno and Benjamin
Starting from the philosophical speculations of Giordano Bruno and Walter Benjamin, the article aims to focus the theme of memory, analysing its historical and political value – as the ‘true measure of life’, image and timeless seal in which history stops – and on the utopian redemptive possibilities of remembering, understood as a ‘retroactive reference of the present to the past’ able to shape a real ‘dialectic of reminiscence’ and spread new light not only on past history, but also and above all on present and future history.
