This essay tries to comprehend the deep reasons of the attack Jean Baudrillard stroke against Michel Foucault in the well known 1977 pamphlet, Oublier Foucault, forty years after the event. Only historizing critically this text – disregarded by many researchers of both philosophers, and by Italians in particular – it is possible to investigate the unspeakable and profound reflexing relationship between the two of them, their conflictual and therefore fruitful affinity.
